Personality

September 22, 2026 | by aashishgautam265@gmail.com

Personality means the usual way a person thinks, feels, and behaves. It makes each person different. For example, one student may enjoy meeting new people and talking in class, while another may prefer sitting quietly and reading. These patterns are part of their personality. Personality develops through a mix of biology, experiences, and environment.

Many psychologists have studied personality. Sigmund Freud believed that personality is influenced by unconscious thoughts and early childhood experiences.

Carl Jung focused on ideas such as introversion and extraversion. Later, Gordon Allport studied personality traits and argued that people have different traits that influence their behaviour. Today, psychologists often use the Big Five model: openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism.

In simple words: Personality = the patterns that make the way we think, feel, and behave different from others.
