This story talks about life as a long journey. The traveller in the story is not just one person — he represents all of us.
At the beginning of the journey, the traveller meets a small child who is always playing. Everything feels bright and happy. Nature looks beautiful, toys are exciting, and life is full of joy. This part shows childhood, when we live without worry and enjoy every small thing.
After some time, the traveller loses the child and meets a young boy. This is the time of growing up. The boy learns new things, plays games, makes friends, and feels strong and confident. Life is busy and full of energy.
Later, the traveller meets a young man who is in love. This stage shows youth. Love, dreams, marriage, and family become important. Life feels meaningful, but slowly pain also enters, because some friends and loved ones begin to leave the journey.
As time passes, the traveller walks through a darker forest with his wife and children. Life now has many responsibilities. Sometimes children leave early, and sometimes they choose different paths. Each loss makes the traveller quieter, older, and more thoughtful.
One day, even the traveller’s wife is called away, and he is left alone. He keeps walking until he becomes an old man. At the end of the journey, he meets another old man who spends his time remembering. When the traveller sits beside him, all the people from his life return — the child, the boy, the young man, friends, wife, and children. They come back as memories, full of love and warmth.
The story ends by gently telling us that life takes people away, but love never really disappears. Everyone we love stays with us through memory.
