A few months ago, I heard a news story about a man who came home from the office extremely tired. As soon as he sat down, his five-year-old daughter started repeatedly insisting that he take her outside. At first, her father refused two or three times. But when she kept insisting, he became extremely angry. And he hit his daughter with a flower vase. She died right there. By the time the father came to his senses, it was too late. A little innocent life had left this world.
Now the question arises: how could a father become so angry with his little daughter that he ended up taking her life? The answer can be found in the psychological concept of displacement. Displacement means that we take out our anger at one person on someone else, usually someone weaker than us.
Now, if we apply the concept of displacement to this case, we will see that this is a capitalist murder. Here, the person was completely burned out and frustrated. Frustrated by office politics, by his boss’s scolding, by the pressure of promotion, and slowly, all this pressure kept accumulating in his mind. And suddenly, he exploded at his daughter.
People will think that the daughter insisted on going outside and, in anger, the father killed her. But no one will know the real reason behind it. The father will be punished by the law. But who will punish the real culprit, that is, the cruel capitalist culture?
Every other day, we hear such news that a person committed a crime in anger. Suddenly, a person suffered a heart attack. But if we carefully analyse all these events, we will realise that we are being crushed inside a grinding machine.
And that grinding machine is capitalism culture.
