A Life in This Moment

March 22, 2026 | by aashishgautam265@gmail.com

This life has been given to us only for a short time, and its most beautiful truth is that it can end at any moment.

In life, we build grand visions of distant destinations. But death can come at any time and shatter all those castles in the air.

We live with the hope that one day, upon reaching our destination, we will finally attain happiness. In the pursuit of future happiness, we keep losing the present.

We lose those moments of joy that we could have lived—like the pleasure of reading a book, the delight of getting drenched in the rain, the fun of playing a game, or sharing a cup of tea with family.

All these are forms of happiness that do not depend on any destination. They exist in simply becoming one with nature.

Can’t we live today instead of postponing life for tomorrow? Can’t we forget obsession of achieving goals for some moment and become like children again—those who make living in the present their only goal?

If we observe life closely and reflect on our experiences, we will realize that true happiness lies in living each moment fully and in becoming one with nature.

Wisdom also tells us that life, like sand, is slipping away grain by grain. Whether we reach our desired destination or not, we are inevitably moving toward our final destination—death.

So let us give ourselves a break from the hustle and bustle of the world. Let us sit with ourselves for a while and embrace the simple joys that life offers in this very moment.
