“He who is without sin should throw the first stone.” This line feels deeply relevant today. Every person is ready to become a judge. People are constantly evaluating one another and giving certificates of who is good and who is bad.
It is often said that every person is a lawyer in their own case and a judge in someone else’s. We easily say, “This person is bad,” “That person is selfish,” “This person has no manners,”. But we rarely evaluate ourselves. We never truly put ourselves on trial.
If I call someone selfish, do I myself help others? If I criticize someone for staying silent against injustice, do I raise my voice against injustice? If I complain that people do not do good deeds, do I myself do any good?
I feel that whenever we point out flaws in others, we should first look within. We should ask ourselves: “Does this same flaw exist in me too? Am I also making the same mistakes for which I criticize others?”
