Dare to Dream, Dare to Change

April 12, 2026 | by aashishgautam265@gmail.com

History testifies that the greatest revolutionary changes in this world have been brought about by those who dared to dream. The individual who sees a wrong and does not close their eyes to it, but instead works to rectify it, is the one who becomes truly great. The rest of humanity often remains just a crowd—appearing for a short time, earning money, and then passing away.

There are many things wrong with this world. Evil practices are rampant in many places, such as discrimination based on gender, caste, and race.

Most people spend their lives merely criticizing the system. But great individuals like Ambedkar, Martin Luther King Jr., the Buddha, and Lincoln were different. They said, “No, this system is wrong. It must be changed.”

If Ambedkar had not raised his voice against untouchability, the lives of Dalits might still be worse than hell today. If Abraham Lincoln had not dreamed of ending slavery, millions of African Americans might never have been freed. If Rosa Parks had given up her seat on the bus, Black people might have continued struggling even more for their dignity.

These examples remind us that we must not accept crimes such as rape, corruption, and discrimination that destroy our society. We must ignite a fire within us—a fire that gives us the courage to fight against injustice.

A just society cannot be built by blind acceptance. Everything must be examined through the lens of reason and fairness. We must ask difficult questions.

Why should opportunities such as professor depend on recommendations and networking? Why should we not dream of a system where jobs and admissions are based purely on merit and capability, not on connections or corrupt practices?

Why should we accept that crime is a natural part of society? Why not envision a crime-free and safe society, especially for women?

Why should we accept that dignity must be sacrificed in a job? Why not dream of a system where the dignity of a watchman is valued as much as that of a Prime Minister or Chief Justice?

Do not think these ideas are utopian. They can become reality if we question unjust systems and practices. Every major revolution in history—whether it is the American Revolution, the French Revolution, Indian independence, or the struggle for women’s rights—was once just a dream before becoming reality.

Let us ask ourselves: what is the one injustice I want to correct? What is the one change I truly desire from the depths of my heart? Do not worry about the crowd. First, ignite the fire within yourself, and it will spread across the world.

I, too, have seen a dream—to bring change in the education system and to protect the dignity of people, especially women.

I know this path is difficult. But every great work demands great determination and an unconquerable will. These are essential to achieving any meaningful mission.

Let us take a pledge to dare to dream—and to bring positive change into the world.
