Sara Thomas, an American swimmer, paid a remarkable tribute to her mother, Virginia, who was diagnosed with cancer, by becoming the first person to swim the English Channel four times in a row— nonstop, covering 130 miles over 54 hours.
This incredible achievement took on even greater significance as Sara herself was also diagnosed with cancer. In reflecting on her journey, she said, ‘I think of my mom and the struggle she went through, and I want to honor her by showing that we can fight back.’
