Chisel (verb)Literal meaning:
To cut or shape something (like stone or wood) with a chisel — a sharp tool.
Figurative (symbolic) meaning: To work patiently and carefully to shape or improve something — just as a sculptor slowly chisels a statue from a rough stone.
👉 Example: He chiseled away at his dreams day by day until success took shape.(= He worked hard and patiently to achieve his goals.)
Peg away : To keep working hard and steadily, especially at something difficult or tiring.
